Are you wondering if accent modification training is right for you? If you have a microphone and ten minutes, you can complete the Compton Screening Assessment of Foreign or Regional Accent right now!
Simple instructions will guide you in recording a
set of words, a short reading passage, and a little of your own
spontaneous speech. When you submit your recordings, AMC's instructor
will review them and and provide a quick rating of your accent as mild,
moderate, or heavy. Within two business days, she will contact you to set up a time to share
your results and to make recommendations for what to do next.
The
screening does not provide a detailed explanation of why native
speakers of American English may have difficulty understanding your pronunciation; an
evaluation will be necessary for a comprehensive analysis of your
speech.
