Marquita Rand, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is both president of and instructor for AMC. She is:

• A licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) with twenty years of experience;
• A reading specialist; and
• A certified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language.

She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Science from The Ohio State University, and her M.Ed. in Reading Education from Towson University. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is licensed by the Maryland State Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers and Speech-Language Pathologists. She belongs to the TESOL International Association, and is certified to provide accent modification training using the Compton P-ESL program.

Dr. Rand has:

• Worked with children and adults in hospital, educational, home, and workplace settings;
• Supervised graduate students in speech-language pathology;
• Managed inpatient and acute rehabilitation programs; and
• Taught Voice and Diction to undergraduate students.

She maintains AMC as an independent, part-time private practice.
